The Małopolskie Voivodeship announces that it is now accepting nominations for the 9th edition of the Veritatis Splendor Award. The award honours individuals or organisations for their outstanding contributions to fostering dialogue between cultures, undertaken in the spirit of the teachings and work of St John Paul II.
The Veritatis Splendor Award is a prestigious honour bestowed by the Małopolska Voivodeship, awarded for lifetime achievement or particularly valuable contributions in the field of social, cultural and interfaith dialogue. It recognises initiatives and activities that contribute to mutual understanding, cooperation and the building of relationships between different groups, cultures and communities.
It is organised in collaboration with the John Paul II Institute for Intercultural Dialogue in Kraków.
The award was established in 2016 by a resolution of the Małopolska Voivodeship Assembly. Since 2020, it has been awarded annually, and since 2021, the prize fund has amounted to 390,000 zł.
The winners are selected by the Małopolska Voivodeship Executive Board on the basis of recommendations from the Veritatis Splendor Chapter, which comprises representatives from intellectual, social and cultural circles. As part of the 8th edition of the Veritatis Splendor Award, presented in 2025, the award was given to the Polish National Shrine on Kahlenberg in Vienna.
The deadline for submitting entries for the 9th edition of the Award is 11 September 2026. The date on which the entry is received by the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Voivodeship will determine whether the deadline has been met.
