We will talk about the American strategic reconnaissance aircraft program, work on which began at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. The first of the “family” was the production A-12, the second was the unproduced YF-12A fighter. The next, the legendary SR-71, earned its place in aviation history as the fastest production manned aircraft.
