On April 26, 1939, the Me 209 V1 set a new absolute speed record — 755 km/h. Thus, in 1939, it became the fastest aircraft in the world. Based on its design, attempts were made to develop a new fighter aircraft. The fuselage of this record-breaking Me 209 V1 is in the collection of the Aviation Museum in Kraków. We will talk about this record-breaking aircraft, its creation, and construction.
