A unique musical gathering took place at the Polish Aviation Museum as part of the Espresso Concerts series, organised by the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Kraków – Sinfonietta Cracovia. The event was held on Sunday 30 March in the extraordinary setting of our aviation exhibition, and its programme was filled with sounds inspired by film and the sky.
During the “Espresso in the Clouds” concert, which took place on a Sunday afternoon, the audience heard compositions by two outstanding film music composers: Philip Glass and Joe Hisaishi. The programme featured String Quartet No. 3 “Mishima”, inspired by the film soundtrack of the same name, and the atmospheric “Merry-go-round of Life” from the animated film “Howl’s Moving Castle”. The intimate concert surrounded by historic aircraft was a unique opportunity to “float among the clouds” in the company of classical music.
Before the concert, a meeting took place with Dr. hab. Krzysztof Mroczkowski, Deputy Director for Research at the Museum, who introduced guests to the connection between aviation, culture and art.
