Father’s Day at the Polish Aviation Museum – Hands-On Workshops for Dad and Little One!

DURATION:28 / 06 / 2025 - 29 / 06 / 2025

Last weekend, the Polish Aviation Museum hosted special modelling workshops “Workshops with a Flair! For Dad and Little One”, organised on the occasion of Father’s Day. It was an excellent opportunity to spend quality time together, share a passion for aviation and build bonds – both literally and figuratively – while assembling scale models.

Seven teams took part in the workshops – wonderful fathers together with their children. Under the guidance of an experienced modeller, participants learned the secrets of working with a craft knife, glue, paints and an airbrush, and each duo had the chance to create their own aircraft model – from the first cut to the last brushstroke. For some, it was their first adventure with modelling; others returned to a former passion, this time sharing it with their children.

Participants assembled their own scale model – a faithful replica of the A-10A Thunderbolt II aircraft in miniature!

The Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II, commonly known as the “Warthog”, is an American ground-attack aircraft designed for close air support of ground forces. It destroys ground targets in all weather conditions, including tanks and armoured vehicles.

Equipped with the powerful 30 mm GAU-8/A rotary cannon, the A-10 is renowned for its exceptional resistance to damage and its ability to continue a mission despite serious failures. It entered service in 1976 and has been extensively used in, among other theatres, Iraq and Afghanistan. Today it is considered an icon of the battlefield and a legend of modern combat aviation.

We thank everyone for attending, for their engagement and the wonderful atmosphere!
