May 15 marks the holiday of the 2nd Aviation Regiment.
It was one of the largest units of the Polish military aviation during the interwar period, stationed at the Rakowice airfield in Kraków.
Its pilots were famous for their aerobatic skills, achieved international sporting successes, and also suffered the first casualties and scored the first victories in combat against the German aggressor after the outbreak of World War II.

The legend of our Museum — Mr. Jan Hoffmann — will introduce you to the history of the PZL P.11c aircraft.
He will also speak in detail about its construction and significance for the 2nd Aviation Regiment, to which this year’s Museum Night is dedicated.

The band was formed in the 2015/2016 school year, and its originator, founder, and manager is Andrzej Królikowski.
The band’s repertoire is very diverse — from aviation songs, through patriotic songs, to rock and folk music. An important part of the band’s activities also includes concerts of carols and Christmas songs.
The band performs regularly across Poland, from the Baltic Sea to the Tatra Mountains, giving approximately 30 performances per year at air bases, cultural institutions, churches, and outdoor events.

Marek Siuta from the “Zabytki Nieba” (Monuments of the Sky) channel will present the history of the Albatros B.II exhibit during Museum Night.
This will be a special event, as the aircraft has not been accessible to visitors recently, and Museum Night will be the first opportunity to see it after restoration!
We would like to sincerely thank Mr. Piotr Łopalewski, who is responsible for the new paint scheme of the Albatros.
