On Sunday, 1 March 2026, the Polish Aviation Museum hosted a Symphony Orchestra Concert by the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków “The Firebird”.

The collaboration between the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków and the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków in recent years has shown how beautifully classical music can resonate among aviation exhibits. As in previous years, we participated in the Kraków Cello Spring, and this year we were additionally honoured with the role of hosting the inauguration.

This concert officially opened the 13th edition of the festival — an event that has become a permanent fixture in the city’s cultural calendar and each year heralds the arrival of an artistic spring.

The Symphony Orchestra of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków was led by conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migoń. The evening was graced by outstanding soloists — winners of the “I Play with the Orchestra” competition:

  • Mikołaj Adamczak — cello
  • Ostap Dudka — double bass

The audience gathered among aircraft and aviation exhibits, where the following works were performed in succession:

  • R. Schumann — Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129
  • S. Koussevitzky — Concerto in F-sharp minor for Double Bass and Orchestra
  • I. Stravinsky — The Firebird (1945)

We would like to thank all the artists and the audience for attending. The concert became a true musical welcome to spring. The combination of classical symphonic music with an aviation setting once again proved to be a perfect match and made the event a lasting memory.
