Night at the Institute of Aviation is the largest nocturnal educational event in Poland, aimed at promoting the aviation and space sector and engineering professions. The 13th Night at the Institute of Aviation took place on Friday, October 4, 2024 — we presented the exhibition “To Aid Fighting Warsaw. On Aviation Missions over the Occupied Country on the 80th Anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising”.

The Polish Aviation Museum stand could be visited between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM on the grounds of the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw at al. Krakowska 110. We prepared an educational and recreational zone, a mobile museum shop, animations, workshops on masterful paper airplane folding, aviation quizzes and a colouring corner for children.

Visitors could also see the exhibition To Aid Fighting Warsaw. On Aviation Missions over the Occupied Country on the 80th Anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. On 20 display boards set up as an outdoor exhibition, the history of supply drops for the Home Army across Poland and for the insurgents was presented, carried out by the crews of the Polish 1586 Special Duties Squadron as well as British, South African and American squadrons. The exhibition also recalled the propaganda-laden, yet essentially symbolic, operations of Soviet aviation and the 2nd “Kraków” Night Bomber Regiment. Its vernissage took place on August 1, 2024, as part of the Museum’s commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.

A night for aviation fans

The event, organised by the Łukasiewicz Research Network — Institute of Aviation, is aimed at all enthusiasts of aviation, aircraft, space, science and technology, as well as those who are curious about the world and enjoy spending their free time actively.

During the event, visitors could meet civilian and military pilots, parachutists, representatives of Warsaw airports, engineers, astronomers, cosmonauts, scientists, students and many other remarkable people. Areas related to aviation, new technologies and space were presented, among others.

We invite you to view the photo report from the event.
