On 5–6 April 2025, Tarnów became a true centre of military activities. The 2nd Military Service and Jobs Fair took place on the premises of the Tarnów Academy, attracting crowds of residents from the city and the region. The Polish Aviation Museum was also present, once again having the opportunity to showcase its activities during this exceptional event.
During the fair, our stand attracted great interest – visitors could learn more about the Museum’s educational activities, find out about the new permanent exhibition “With the Wind and Against the Wind. Civil Aviation”, as well as receive promotional materials and talk with representatives of our institution. For us, this is not only an opportunity for promotion, but above all – for preserving the memory of Polish aviators and popularising aviation history.
The Museum’s presence among military units and uniformed services underlines our mission – as a cultural institution, we safeguard aviation heritage and strive to inspire a passion for history in future generations.
The event, organised by the Central Military Recruitment Centre, was part of a nationwide initiative – Tarnów was among sixteen cities in Poland where this year’s fairs were held. As Colonel Ireneusz Olender, head of the Kraków branch of the CWCR, emphasised, such events aim to showcase the full range of opportunities offered by military service. It is also an excellent opportunity to encourage young people to consider a career in the military and take on challenges related to the country’s security and defence.
Participants were treated to many attractions: military equipment presentations, demonstrations, a sports zone, a virtual shooting range and even traditional military pea soup. The event concluded with a concert by the military orchestra from Kraków.
We thank all visitors for the time spent together and the heartfelt conversations. See you – at the Polish Aviation Museum!
