As in previous years, this autumn our Museum joined the “Peek into Huta” initiative – a unique event promoting the history and culture of Nowa Huta and the places that co-create its identity. The initiative, organised since 2013 by the Museum of Kraków together with partners, aims to discover the extraordinary spaces of the district, promote local heritage and encourage residents and visitors to actively explore its diverse institutions.
As part of this year’s edition, on Sunday, 21 September 2025, two special themed guided tours of our Museum took place.
During the educational-workshop walk, participants learned about the most important aircraft and helicopters connected with both the history of Polish aviation and the history of world aviation. Among the exhibits presented were also unique machines of enormous historical value, including the famous PZL P.11c fighter, a symbol of the Polish air force from September 1939, as well as aircraft from the former collection of Hermann Göring. The guided tour was enriched with technical curiosities, historical context and stories about the people connected with these extraordinary designs.
This year’s event had an additional, exceptional highlight – as part of the guided tour, participants could visit the new permanent exhibition “With the Wind and Against the Wind – Civil Aviation”, opened in August during Polish Aviation Day celebrations.
We sincerely thank all participants of this year’s “Peek into Huta” edition for visiting our Museum and warmly invite you to come again!
