45 Years of Krakow’s Restoration – A City on the UNESCO World Heritage List

DATE:08 / 04 / 2026

From 18 July to 7 September 2025, a unique panel exhibition entitled “45 Years of Krakow’s Renewal — A City on the UNESCO World Heritage List” was presented on the mezzanine of the Main Hangar of the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow.

The exhibition was prepared in cooperation with the Museum of Krakow and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, and its aim was to showcase Krakow’s conservation achievements over the past four decades — since the inscription of the city’s historic centre on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978.

The exhibition consisted of 15 panels, 2 metres high and 1 metre wide, equipped with integrated LED lighting. Thanks to a flexible exhibition system, the panels were arranged in an impressive spatial composition, enabling visitors to freely explore the content and photographic documentation.

Previously, the exhibition had been presented at such prestigious locations as the entrance hall of the Krzysztofory Palace, the Jagiellonian Library, the International Cultural Centre, the Regional Office for the Protection of Monuments, as well as in the monasteries of the Franciscans, Benedictines, and Dominicans. Now, for the first time, it was made available to the public at the Polish Aviation Museum — in a space combining the history of technology with the cultural heritage of Krakow.
